"It would certainly make as much sense as anything else around here." "Opeem thinks sentinels were charged with power of rock." "Yes, almost ready to be annihilated by some massive golem and his master. "Cheer up, now! I'm sure we're almost there!" "Directly ahead, on the other hand, you'll find a staircase going directly back down." ".And to your right, you'll see a new contingent of fully automatic caustic murderbots." ![]() ![]() "Free! Free from the basement of teleporters at last!" "Actually, it's probably going to violently explode and knock out Opeem and Leriam." A small mercy, but you might want to get that fixed all the same." "Opeem, they've dissolved most of your face. "Opeem will make golems regret many pointy, stabby things." "Yes, and I'm sure we'll regret it soon." "I'm pretty sure they never released the green one over here." "Yes, now we can survive even more wounds, scars and horrible pain before we finally take a cackling leap off this mortal coil. "'Hope stole your dinner, hope murdered your childhood pet and hope set your future on fire?' Opeem doesn't like hope any more. "And here I hoped we saw the last of them." "Look, you might want to heal him before he turns into a bleached, bubbling skeleton." "They're made of stone! Stone! How can their fists be acidic?" "You know, maybe we should've taken our chances with the machines back there." "Can we please go through one of the portals? Before he destroys the entire factory?" "And don't talk to me about hope, either. Well, at least I didn't expect anything better." I wouldn't object to taking some vengeance on Solberg for subjecting me to the sentinel factory. Or roll with it and join the loyalists as a sort of accident (after all, these people would stumble into villainy the same way they do with heroism: Accidentally while trying something completely different). Unfortunately, the entire internet seems devoid of a walkthrough addressing a loyalist playthrough.Įdit: Or I could save, try and load if it all goes wrong. I would, at this point, refer to a walkthrough. And while I've never tried, I suspect Solberg is practically a god of magic power-wise. If only because of diplomatic complications. Thing is, if we stick with the Empress side of things, I doubt they'll take too kindly to us killing Solberg. We don't deal with terrorists! >_> (The NPCs deal with you however, so that's kinda onesided, i guess.)Hm. If that isn't possible, just screw Dorikas. So yes, tricky.Ĭan't we kill both Solberg and Dorikas? Because that would be my direct choice in this. The one I'm not allowed to use since this is an LP. At least as far as Avernum goes, in my opinion, such difficulty spikes are what the character editor is for. Odd, like I said, and that difficulty curve, if that's the correct term, is weirdly consistent throughout all Spiderweb games. Some time afterwards, in the late game, you find a few utterly broken things and the whole game becomes a joke. Some way in, there will be a vast difficulty spike that remains for some time and is ridiculously harsh even on Easy (which is, by the way, what I always play on). They all have a strange difficulty setting, though. ramping the difficulty up until you have to be Superman to do anything? I got utterly stuck in Geneforge 5 because I got to a point where it seemed I was being curbstomped wherever I went.Geneforge, believe it or not, is kinder. I voted to join Dorikas, as I recall, but I also recall I was in the minority viewpoint there!ĭo all Spiderweb's games work this way, by the way? e.g.
